When an EPDM or other rubber deck fades, stains or deteriorates, I help assess removal, preparation and a new surface designed for the demands of a pool environment.

Depending on the condition of the base, AquaFlex can be installed over properly prepared concrete, tile, pavers or other suitable surfaces. Waterproofing, movement and drainage must be addressed separately.

THE CHALLENGE
The club’s rubber pool deck began failing within its first year. By the third year, it needed replacement in a busy indoor pool setting.
THE APPROACH
I worked with the Bellevue team on scope and installation planning, including surface preparation, drain details and a two-tone design: a darker blend near the pool and a lighter surrounding deck.
THE RESULT
The old surface was replaced with a custom non-porous AquaFlex deck. The completed pool area has a cohesive finish designed for wet-area traction and ongoing care.
